Abu Shalab
Who is Abu Shalab?
Abu Shalab is a viral internet character, found as @abu.shalab on Instagram and TikTok. A black bowl cut with straight bangs, a thick moustache and a plain white thobe: the look is instantly recognizable. According to ScamAdviser, the Instagram account started around 27 September 2026 and had more than half a million followers within a few days.
Why do his dance videos go viral?
Abu Shalab dances with a serious expression and stiff, almost mechanical movements that still hit the beat exactly. Our take: it is precisely this dry seriousness that makes the clips funny. According to ScamAdviser, the videos have reached around 183 million visible views in total.
Is Abu Shalab real or AI?
ScamAdviser concludes that the man in the videos appears to be AI-generated; Gulf Moments also describes him as an AI character. There is no official confirmation from the creators. The illustration on this page is clearly labelled AI fan art by ODDLIES and not an original photo.
What is $ABU about?
The profile links to Pump.fun, where a meme coin called $ABU is traded. ScamAdviser found no evidence of a scam but advises caution because of this connection. ODDLIES does not offer the coin and does not give investment advice.
What creators can take from this
A clear outfit, a fixed hairstyle and a typical way of moving: a character needs nothing more to be recognized. Keep these features the same in every scene and only change the location and music. That way, individual clips become a series with its own rhythm.
